Meeting the Dreaming: For the 50th Anniversary of Mungo Man

Wednesday, June 19 @ 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM EDT

Meeting the Dreaming in an inspiration of Prof Jim Bowler, in the 50th year since his discovery of Mungo Man in 1974, in what is now the Willandra Lakes World Heritage Area. Dr Bowler has called for a year of Dialogue to commemorate the extraordinary revelations of Mungo Man and the earlier discovery of Mungo Lady (1969). Following two successful events launching the year of dialogue, the first at Lake MUngo itself on February 26th and then at Penninsula Hot Springs in April, this program will continue the converstion for both an Australian and International audience.

Shane Howard
For over 40 years Shane Howard has established himself as one of Australia’s most influential writers and singers and created a uniquely
Australian voice. From the red heart, where he penned his enduring song ‘Solid Rock’, to the wilds of Tasmania that gave birth to ‘Let the Franklin Flow’, his songs challenge existing social paradigms and dig down into what it means to be a modern Australian. They also reach across the globe and champion the cause of the common people, our human condition, the environment and the injustices of colonisation.
A senior statesman, musician and poet, he’s played for Prime Ministers, Aboriginal Elders and Environmental campaigners, from concert halls to protest sites and remote campfires.

Jenny Bowler Jenny’s work has led her on a quest through Astrology, Shaminic Studies, Music Therapy and currently exploring Deeptime Thinking integrating Cosmogenesis and a New Story. Much of her work has been inspired by the stories from Lake Mungo and 50,000 years of human antiquity. She has created curriculum for schools and runs online workshops sharing the Cosmic Story going back 13.5 billion years – shifting perspective.

Greg Campbell is the Western Australian author of the 2022 book Total Reset. The work began in 1991 when widely respected, traditional senior Aboriginal Law-keeper and maban man Paddy (Lulu) Roe asked Greg to live on Country with him and the Goolarabooloo people of the West Kimberley and collaborate in writing a book. Its purpose was to allow people to see the world in a different way – through the lens of the Dreaming and the original blueprint for living (First Law) carried by our species from Day One – thereby enabling Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to work together to develop strategies for returning our world to balance.
