Each year, millions of children are victims of child molestation and rape. This need not be. Phenomenal resources exist that can educate children on the communication skills essential to being their own best advocates. Chrissy Sykes’ “My Body Is My Body” Animated Musical Program is one powerful example. Translated into 25 languages thus far, MBIMB is teaching children in schools, nursery schools, and homes around the world personal safety in fun and engaging ways – through animation, dance and music.
Presenter Bio: As an award-winning singer/songwriter and recording artist, with a career in South Africa and Nashville, USA, Chrissy decided to put her songwriting skills into practice by writing the My Body is My Body Program. The program was developed in conjunction with the Departments of Education and Departments of Human Services in the United States of America. After spending 5 years traveling around the USA in Texas, Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, and Atlanta and presenting the program in schools to over 350,000 children, Chrissy realized that she could only reach a small portion of children by presenting the live show, so she decided to animate the program so that it could be shared on the internet and distributed to schools, teachers, and parents worldwide.
This program is FREE for everyone. All the translations and language voices have been done by volunteers. There is no funding, and everything that has been achieved has been through the kindness and goodwill of caring volunteers who want to make a difference.
