Hi, I’m Elliott Robertson. In 2009 I was introduced to Hafiz’s poetry. And magically, I found myself inspired to write mystical poetry. I’ve been writing poems almost every week without fail for 14 years.
Please join me for some refreshment. We’ll swim in Hafiz’s words. And I’ll share some of the poems I’ve written that borrow from Hafiz (his muddied reputation, the robe he sold for wine, the flute waiting for the breath of Christ, etc.).Elliott Robertson’s muse has been Hafiz. Over the last 14 years he has read translations by Gertrude Bell, Robert Bly, Daniel Ladenski, and Dick Davis, He uses a wide range of forms including rhymed couplets, ghazals (the form used by Hafiz), and free verse.
