We envisage an interactive exploration of the concept of interfaith engagement and what it means to our shifting world. What is “The Interfaith Community” and does it mean the same thing to everyone? This is an opportunity to think together and imagine new ways of being peace activists, new ways of reinventing community and new ways of being peace-fully, mindfully and heart-fully present in the midst of a challenging, changing world.
Rev Berry Behr is the Interfaith Ambassador for Emissaries of Divine Light. She is an ordained Interfaith/ Inter-spiritual minister, having graduated from One Spirit Interfaith Seminary, New York. Berry is based in Cape Town, South Africa and is a former Chair of Cape Town Interfaith Initiative (2018 – 2023). She has presented internationally on multifaith platforms including Parliament of the World’s Religions, Charter for Compassion and World Interfaith Harmony Week. Berry is an Interim Board member of Religions for Peace South Africa, where she holds the Environment portfolio.
Uzair Ben Ebrahim is an educator, linguist, facilitator, decolonialist, visual artist and poet. He is a former Board member and Advisory Board member of Cape Town Interfaith Initiative, and a KAICIID fellow as well as a former Program Manager for ACWAY. Whether the language is English, Hebrew, Arabic or Afrikaans, Izzy is an eloquent and outspoken social justice advocate and a powerful voice for youth empowerment.
