Saving the Horn Antenna for Future Generations

Thursday, June 22 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EDT

The Horn Antenna is a magnificent structure atop a hill in Holmdel, New Jersey, where humanity made its first direct encounter with its source. In 1964 two intrepid astronomers used this antenna to detect the radiation left over from the explosive beginning of our universe. When recently this hallowed ground was sold to a developer to erect condominiums on it, a small group of determined citizens banded together to save the historic site for future generations to enjoy. This conversation is about why this place holds so much meaning for our future and how such courageous actions by concerned citizens can change the course of humanity.
