Youth Voices for Peace

Join us for an inspiring and interactive event, Youth Voices for Peace, a two-hour Zoom-based program held in Room ONE. Hear from dynamic youth speakers from renowned peace-building organizations, including Pathways To Peace, Children of the Earth, PeaceJam, United Religions Initiative, and May Peace Prevail On Earth International.

Musical performance from Tatiana Speed. Tatiana speed is a Canadian singer/songwriter, poet and somatic healer who uses music as a way to inspire social change and transformation, and as a conduit for meditation, healing and inner reflection.

She has performed her music live in a diverse number of contexts from international summits and peace conferences to yoga studios, therapeutic settings and sacred spaces.   Tatiana brings a versatile and impactful musical presence. Her live performances offer interactive experiences, guiding listeners through moments of joyful group singing to introspective journeys into the body, heart, and soul.

Her work has been featured in films and documentaries and she has also been showcased on prominent radio and television platforms such as the CBC, the Awakening World, and Unity Earth. Tatiana stands as a dynamic artist with a commitment to using her craft to inspire, uplift and heal.

Idel Mena is a dedicated youth advocate for peace. As a representative of PeaceJam, Idel works tirelessly to empower young people to become leaders in their communities and advocate for positive change. With a strong background in Art & Marketing, he leads the communications for his organization.

For 35 years, Author, Innovator, Mother and Artist Laurie Marshall has empowered youth and adults through creative collaboration. She practices Peace Building through Art, inspired by Nature. A visionary educator, she has served mostly low-income children, families and their schools as an Arts Integration and Project Based Learning specialist. Her mission is to nurture creativity, a love of learning and a collaborative spirit. She is the founder of Unity Through Creativity Foundation and the Singing Tree Project.

In addition, Laurie is a certified K-12 Art and Social Studies Teacher with training in the Waldorf Curriculum, Conversational Intelligence, and Peace Literacy. Her innovative use of visual art and storytelling in consensus building, leadership training and conflict prevention has been used by NASA, FEMA, US Botanical Gardens, and public schools in 20 states.

A fierce grandmother, she is devoted to the well-being of all the chidren of all of the species for all of time. Creativity and collaboration are everyone’s birthright.

Fumi Johns Stewart is Executive Director of May Peace Prevail On Earth International. Fumi grew up in Japan with a sincere wish to bridge the two cultures of her American and Japanese parentage. She was instrumental in introducing the May Peace Prevail On Earth movement to the international community in the early 1980’s.  She brought The Peace Pole Project out of Japan and helped to establish the international Peace Pole movement.  She assisted in opening the International Headquarters of May Peace Prevail which was registered as a non-profit corporation in the state of New York in 1988.  Fumi also serves as US liaison to sister organization, the Goi Peace Foundation of Japan and the Mt.
