Fascinated with organizational change, Kathryn Alexander was an early student of systems thinking, creating study groups for the Fifth Discipline by Peter Senge and studying with Fritjof Capra, starting in the 70s. Her change work showed her the impact of tacit values on leadership and management styles. This insight, combined with the remarkable work of Jane Jacobs, led her to working with the two value systems Jacobs posited, including her own researched addition of nature’s value system in the early 2000s.
