Laurence Singer, founding Volunteer Lawyer for the Arts in Washington D.C. in 1973 led to understanding of the crucial role creative communities play in these changing times. He has synthesized life stories into Cultural Expression – The Way of Change. Part memoir, part manifesto, the book traces more than sixty years of practice across law, art, activism, and global community building. At its heart, Cultural Expression – The Way of Change proposes a new kind of cultural infrastructure building ecosystems of creativity, locally rooted, globally connected, economically sustainable, and built on trust rather than centralized control. Through music, film, poetry, and community innovation hubs, Laurence offers a vision for evolving lifestyles in the 21st century.
